We read the myth of "Narcissus and Echo" and answered the questions together.
Then we watched a clip about ego from Joseph Campbell. Today we learned about archetypes via a powerpoint. Then we wrote down as many examples of them using a study guide. (attached below) We only had time to introduce EGO and watched a short clip about it. ![]()
Today we read the myth called "The Loves of the Gods" which explain winter, peacocks, and flies. We answered the questions together then did the aftermyth for it. Lastly, we had a think with ink on love. (attached below) ![]()
We started by sharing our Pandora's Boxes. Then we had a Think With Ink on Greek gods and celebrities. (attached below) We talked about gods and celebrities. ![]()
Today we finished the Aphrodite myth and answered the questions.
Then we did the after myth assignment for it. Finally, we went over some of the lesser gods and creatures of Classical mythology. We had a sub and watched a video on Zeus and Hades.
A day and B day agenda order got switched for this week. We started with some review of pronouns and antecedents as well as topic sentences. This is important since we are revising our "classic" assignment. (new instructions attached below) Then we read about a flood myth and talked about the discussion questions. The Captain offered an extra credit assignment. Finally, we started reading "Mighty Aphrodite" but ran out of time. ![]()
In pairs, we started with a handout that explained where we get the names of our days and months. We had a worksheet to analyze these names. (attached below). Then we watched a 10 minute video and took notes on how the Romans influenced Western society. (youtube Tom Richey, Roman influence) ![]()
Today we shared our letter to a god in groups of 3 then turned them in. Then we looked at how the Greek world was shaped and learned about Mother Goddess and how our conception of the Greeks is a composite of two societies. Finally, we recieved the Pandora's box assignment (attached below). ![]()
We shared our "classic" assignment in groups of 4 and handed them in. Then we read the myth Prometheus the Firebringer and answered questions about them in groups of 2-3. Lastly, we responded to the myth using a handout with questions. We will be using this handout for all myths that we cover. (attached below) ![]()
